Every single asana is a journey in itself, with its own Sanskrit name, history, benefits, modifications, variations and so much more. We love to explore yoga poses by type, from arm balances to backbends, inversions, twists and more.
Here is our first powerful standing pose💪
Warrior II, Virabhadrasana
Warrior II - Vīrabhadrāsana. The asana of the mythical warrior Virabhadra. The warrior's name is in turn from the Sanskrit वीर Vira "hero" and भद्र Bhadra "friend".
🤔Do you know the story behind this asana? Would you like to know more about the warrior Vīrabhadrāsana and why he was sent by Shiva to a wedding to destroy the host and all his guests? What could have made Shiva - the almighty god of destruction and resurrection - so angry?😡
This yoga pose is so simple and yet so effective. Not just for your body but for your mind as well. I love warrior II because:
🤸🏻It cultivates strength of mind and courage
🤸🏻Helps to find focus and balance
🤸🏻Improves your endurance
🤸🏻Strengthens your legs and core
🤸🏻Improves your posture
🤸🏻Prepares for the more difficult standing positions
Let's put this pose into our practice today!
