![]() This time we look into an intermediate pose that stretches your legs and hips while challenging your balance: Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana is as well known as Standing Split. This is an asana hybrid: Forward bend + inversion + balance! I like to put it into my flow after a warrior sequence. When you practice Standing Splits focus on the stretch in your quad and hamstring, not how high you can lift your leg!🤸🏻 It's sanskrit name: Urdhva Prasarita Eka Padasana ❓Urdhva —> upward ❓Prasarita — >spread / expanded ❓Eka —> one ❓Pada —> foot / leg Top Tips: ✅Focus on the stretch in your legs, not how high you can lift your leg. ✅Keep your hips straight and internally rotate the leg that goes up. ✅Use blocks to touch ground if necessary Benefits: 💪stretches the hamstrings 💪strengthens the ankle and legs 💪improves balance and concentration 💪calms the mind 💪stimulates the root and sacral chakras Would you like to learn more?
