![]() Here is our next powerful balancing yoga posture, the Tree Pose, Vrksasana. (Sanskrit name = वृक्षासन) 🤸♂️Vriksh = tree and asana = pose. Tree pose is for sure one of the first postures any yogi learns in their yoga journey. It seems simple enough until you take a step back and start looking at the details.🧐 This pose is physically challenging for the hips, balance, ankles, and feet. Moreover, Vrksasana definitely challenges you emotionally, as well: it changes daily depending on your general mood, the day you’ve had, the amount of sleep you got, interactions that happened right before practice, and so much more.🤷♀️ Here are just a few of the Vrksasana's physical and emotional benefits: 💪 establishes strength and balance in the legs, ankles and feet 💪 is an active hip and chest-opener and fortifies your Muladhara (first or "root") Chakra 💪 makes you feel centred, steady, and grounded 💪 helps to enhance confidence and create a more positive level of self-esteem 💪 makes you cool off and slow down 💪 through the practice of balance, you develop poise, concentration, and coordination 💪 prepares you for almost all other balances Would you like to learn more?

When practiced consistently, the Salamba Sirsasana: 💪 Builds strength in the upper body and core: shoulder, arms, legs and spine 💪 Strengthens your lungs 💪Develops healthy brain. Headstands can be beneficial for boosting brain function, increasing blood flow to the scalp. 💪 Increases focus and improves the mental capacity 💪 Decreases a sense of worry, apprehension and stress 💪 Improves digestion 💪 Helps relieve the symptoms of menopause 💪 Therapeutic for asthma, infertility, insomnia, and sinusitis Balance in this pose is difficult at first, performing Sirsasana against a wall can be helpful in the beginning. A partner can also help you with your alignment in this pose. 👯♂️ This is not a beginner asana, so please stay patient and careful in your practice!
