Wild Things...

2/11/2017

Camatkarasama - also know as "Wild Thing"
One poetic translation from Sanskrit means “the ecstatic unfolding of the enraptured heart.”

Start to prepare your body with some sun salutations, a bow pose and a side plank before indulging into the "wild thing". It is not only an intense backbend but also a challenging arm balance. In your second round you can also try to transition into wheel pose (upward facing bow). Then end your flow with a deeply breathing down dog and long child's pose to counter balance the backbend.

Wild thing will open your heart, chest. lungs, shoulders and hip flexors while strengthening the arms and wrists.

One Giant Leap - Hanumanasana

Sometimes all it takes is a giant leap!
Like HANUMAN (the son of all mighty Shiva) when he jumped over 300 miles to the city of Lanka to save the wife of god Rama, who he was very loyally devoted to. The monkey god had great powers but was under a curse that made him unaware of them. All it took was a few fellow MONKEYS to remind him how awesome he already was to unleash his FULL POTENTIAL!

What about reminding some of your fellow monkey friends & kids 🐒🐒 today how awesome they already are!?

Natarajasana - The Lord of the Dance

Natarajasana - Lord of the Dance pose. This balancing pose ist dedicated to the Hindu god Shiva - the cosmic ECSTATIC dancer "Nataraja" (nata = dancer , raja = king). He performs the dance of BLISS in which the whole UNIVERSE is created, maintained and dissolved. The purpose of his DANCE is to release the SOULS of all men and women from the trap of ILLUSION. Nataraja furthermore symbolises the connection between religion and the ARTS, a FEARLESS celebration of the JOY of dance, untouched by forces of ignorance and evil, signifying a spirituality that transcends all DUALITY.

Partner-Up in the Journey to Handstand!

2/3/2017

Soon we will start again to train together and continue the path on our "Journey to Handstand! The SOLAR ASANA SEQUENCE is also called the alphabet of AcroYoga and consists of about 100 asanas specially combined into a nice flow to strengthen all body parts that we need to get better with our handstand. We learn different entries into handstand and how to bail out of it safely with a spotter and without, on the wall and in the middle of he room.

Normally the sequence takes only about half an hours when it is taught in an AcroYoga Immersions, but we will take more time (in total: 75 min) to refine the different asanas where necessary. In the end we also take some extra time to do some fun & efficient partner exercises that will help us to find more alignment, tightness and balance. When this Solar Asana sequence is practised regularly you will see the fast results.

  • Starting on April 25th 2017 until the end of June.
  • Every Tuesday: 18:00 - 19:15 h
  • Just before the AcroYoga beginners course - the perfect warm-up!
  • Yogafusion Studio, Tendlergasse 11, 1090  Vienna (entry at the corner).
  • No pre-registration necessary
  • We have lots of mats
